Acting Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina Gordana Tadić has held a meeting with the Director of the Personal Data Protection Agency Petar Kovačević.

At the meeting, standards of personal data protection, as applied in EUROJUST (European Union’s Judicial Cooperation Unit), have been discussed, since such standards must be met by any country that wishes to exchange information with the aforementioned institution which assists cooperation between institutions of individual states in the fight against serious organized crime affecting several EU member states and also encourages and improves coordination of investigations and criminal prosecutions.

Moreover, there were discussions about the amended legal framework in this area which has recently started being implemented in the European Union, particularly about its specificities pertaining to judicial institutions, and about the need to foresee such specificities in the BiH legislation as regards the protection of personal data, so that they be harmonised with the standards of the European Union in the future.

During the meeting, future activities were agreed with the aim of enhancing cooperation between the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Personal Data Protection Agency.
