DELEGATION OF THE REPUBLIC OF FRANCE MET WITH PROSECUTORS OF THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH

Exchange of experiences in prosecution of war crimes and joining of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office to the European Union Network for Investigation and Prosecution of Genocide, Crimes against Humanity and War Crimes were discussed.

Acting Chief Prosecutor of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office - Gordana Tadić, together with the officials and prosecutors of the Special Department for War Crimes, met with the delegation from the Republic of France consisting of Jean-François Caparos,  Police Attache at the Embassy of the Republic of France in BiH and Nicolas Le Coz, an expert from the Republic of France in the field of justice and Deputy Head of the Office for Combating Criminal Offenses of Genocide, Crimes against Humanity and War Crimes.

The issues discussed at the meeting were exchange of experiences in the prosecution of Genocide, Crimes against Humanity and War Crimes, as well as the work and activities of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH in war crimes prosecution, international cooperation in the prosecution of cases of violation of International Humanitarian Law, as well as other activities that are important for the work on war crimes cases.

Representatives of the Delegation of the Republic of France supported the successful work of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH in the prosecution of war crimes and its joining to the European Union Network for Investigation and Prosecution of Genocide, Crimes against Humanity and War Crimes in the status of an Observer, which is an important segment in the European integration process.

The BiH Prosecutor’s Office has good cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of France in BiH, as well as the institutions and agencies of the Republic of France. In the past period significant cooperation was achieved in several cases of organized crime and war crimes.
