BY ORDER OF THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH 13 WAR CRIMES SUSPECTS WERE DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY IN THE DOBOJ AND TESLIĆ AREA. THE MATTER CONCERNS A COMPLEX AND COMPREHENSIVE CATEGORY 2 CASE

By order of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, early this morning in the area of Doboj and Teslić, dozens of SIPA officers acted upon the instruction of the Prosecutor and apprehended a total of 13 persons suspected of war crimes committed in 1992 against ethnic Bosniaks and Croats from that area.

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH also thanks the RS MoI for the support and assistance on the ground during the course of these activities and investigation, as well as members of ISA BiH on the information provided.

Among those apprehended are former senior police officials as well as members of the armed formation "Miće" who are suspected of crimes in Teslić and the surrounding area.

The matter concerns a Category 2 case i.e. a case in which the investigation was initiated by the ICTY’s Office of the Prosecutor and then the case was transferred to the BiH judiciary.

Persons apprehended are suspected of having committed war crimes and crimes against humanity in the area of Doboj and Teslić, in which at least 40 victims were killed and where persecution, forced relocation and illegal detention of hundreds of people took place as well as looting and destruction of property of Bosniak and Croat victims in this area.

The investigation in this case refers to the war crimes committed by members of the armed formation "Miće", within which the Bosniak and Croat population were forced out of Teslić and a number of surrounding villages.

Persons who are under investigation are suspected of having committed the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity under Article 172 of the CC BiH.

The suspects will be handed over to the Prosecutor who will question them and then decide on a motion for remand in custody or order of prohibitive measures in accordance with law.

Within the scope of Category 2 case the following suspects were apprehended:

1.  Bjelošević Andrija, born in 1954,

2.  Savić Milan, born in 1952

3.  Kuzmanović Dušan, born in 1955

4.  Markočević Predrag, born in 1957

5.  Đukić Marinko, born in 1964

6.  Pijunović Miroslav, born in 1956

7.  Ćulibrk Dobrivoj, born in 1956

8.  Marjanović Dragan, born in 1971

9.  Slavuljica Dario, born in 1973

10.Gavranović Saša, born in 1966

11.Subotić Predrag, born in 1972

12.Dević Vitomir, born in 1967

13.Šljuka Zoran, born in 1957.
