A BIG JOINT OPERATION „PRENJ“ WAS CARRIED OUT IN THE AREAS OF MOSTAR AND HERZEGOVINA(07.07.2010. 11:26)
By order of the Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption within the BiH Prosecutor's Office, the officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency have apprehended 14 people and searched a total of 14 locations used by the suspects in the area of Mostar and several other towns in Herzegovina. The operation also involved the officers of the BiH State Border Police, the RS MoI, PSC Trebinje and Herzegovina - Neretva Canton MoI.
This operation was carried out as a part of the investigation in the "Prenj" case, focusing on detection and criminal prosecution of people suspected of trafficking narcotics across the border of the Republic of Montenegro, through the southern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina towards the Republic of Croatia.
The operation demonstrates good cooperation and coordination with the law enforcement and judicial authorities of Montenegro and Croatia.
The BiH Prosecutor's Office suspects the people who were deprived of liberty with trafficking more than 150 kilograms of narcotic - skunk, whose price on the illegal drug market in the Republic of Croatia is estimated at more than 150,000 Euros, and on the illegal market of Western Europe, at more than 600,000 Euros.
The BiH Prosecutor's Office charged the suspects with participation in the criminal offenses of Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs under Article 195 of the Criminal Code of BiH, and Organized Crime under Article 250 of the same Code.
All of the suspects shall be handed over to the BiH Prosecutor's Office following the completion of police procedure, and the assigned prosecutor shall question the suspects and decide on further actions regarding custody motions.
