INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY
17.09.2021. 15:27A Prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued an Indictment against the following person:
- Radovan Veljović, born in 1954 in Foča, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The accused is charged with acting contrary to the provisions of the Geneva Conventions relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War, during the war and armed conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a member of the Republika Srpska Army (VRS), in 1992, in the area of Foča.
He is charged with committing the war crime of rape and sexual abuse against a Bosniak victim from the Foča area.
The accused is charged with the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity, referred to in Article 172 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
As part of the Indictment, it was proposed to impose prohibiting measures against the said accused, in order to ensure the unhindered conduct of the court proceedings.
The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
