The aforementioned suspects are under investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and custody measures have been proposed in relation to six (6) of the suspects for reasons as stipulated in Article 132, paragraph 1, items a), b) and c) of the Criminal Procedure Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, namely, due to the risk of the suspects’ flight and the danger that, if at large, the suspects might hinder the investigation, conceal evidence or influence witnesses or accomplices, as well as the danger that, if at large, they might commit a new criminal offence.

Prohibiting measures have been proposed in relation to two (2) persons, and they include a ban on leaving the place of residence, a travel ban and withdrawal of personal documents, as well as prohibition from meeting with witnesses and suspects in this case and mandatory reporting to the competent police station.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina is conducting an investigation in the case codenamed ‘Lipa’ /Linden Tree/, aimed at detecting and prosecuting persons who are suspected to have smuggled hundreds of illegal migrants through Bosnia and Herzegovina and further to the Republic of Croatia and thus acquired large amounts of unlawful material gain for themselves.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina resumes its intensive work on the case.
