MEMBER OF BIH BORDER POLICE, SUSPECTED OF CORRUPTION, DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY ON ORDER OF PROSECUTOR FROM BIH PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE
14.09.2020. 18:37Acting on an order issued by a Prosecutor from the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption, police officers of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina have deprived the suspect S.S. of his liberty in the area of Velika Kladuša. The suspect is an employee of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, holding the rank of Inspector.
The aforementioned suspect is subject to investigation due to the commission of the corruption criminal offence – namely, Accepting Gifts and Other Forms of Benefit, referred to in Article 217 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In the course of the investigation, evidence was collected indicating that the suspect had requested and received money from one person, in order to unlawfully facilitate the return of a seized motor vehicle.
After gathering necessary evidence and information, activities were undertaken to deprive the suspect of his liberty. The suspect will be handed over to the Prosecutor in charge of this case within the legally prescribed time limit, who will examine the suspect and make a decision on further activities in this case.
