THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE OF BIH STRONGLY CONDEMNS THE ATTEMPTS OF POLITICIANS TO EXCLUDE THE STATE JUDICIAL INSTITUTIONS FROM THE STRUCTURAL DIALOGUE

24.04.2014. 15:03
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH is an institution that provides the most significant results in the fight against war crimes and organized crime important for the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina and cannot be separated as such.
  • THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE OF BIH STRONGLY CONDEMNS THE ATTEMPTS OF POLITICIANS TO EXCLUDE THE STATE JUDICIAL INSTITUTIONS FROM THE STRUCTURAL DIALOGUE

The Prosecutor's Office of BiH views as negative the actions of the Council of Ministers which have delayed the structural dialogue session scheduled on April 29, 2014 in Brussels.

This is an attempt to expel the representatives of the judicial profession (the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, the Court of BiH and HJPC BiH), civil society, the media and the Ombudsman from the structural dialogue, those who have made a positive turnaround at the last session and contributed to significant progress towards meeting the requirements of Chapter 23 and 24 within the accession to the European integration, which does not suit some political structures.

At the same time we would like to inform the public that the Chief Prosecutor will be signing a significant Protocol on cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office of Montenegro in Brussels thus continuing to strengthen regional cooperation in the field of prosecution of war crimes and the fight against all forms of organized and trans-national crime, which is an essential element in the European integration of our country.

With  the signing of the Protocol on cooperation we will complete the conclusion of protocols with Prosecutor’s Offices in all neighboring countries, and the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina will once again send a clear message to all perpetrators of crimes that they will not be able to hide and avoid criminal prosecution.

The Prosecutor's Office of BiH will also remain active in the process of structural dialogue, because together with the Court of BiH, HJPC BiH and civil society, it represents the  key factor in strengthening the judiciary and the rule of law in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which form the foundation of modern democracies.
