Representatives of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH: Prosecutor Gordana Bosiljčić and legal advisor in the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption - Senad Osmić, participated in the workshop which incorporated discussions on experiences of European countries in the process of confiscating illegally acquired assets.

Experts with extensive experience from England, Scotland, Poland and the Netherlands presented to an audience of colleagues from the judicial and police institutions of BiH on their experiences and activities related to the detection of illegally acquired assets, the processes of registering of such property, as well as the legal standard for seizure of illegally acquired assets, which are usually acquired through commission of criminal offenses of corruption and organized crime.

The workshop also included discussions on the mechanisms of international cooperation in the process of detection and confiscation of illegally acquired property, freezing of assets and preventing that such illegally acquired assets be disposed with throughout the duration of the criminal proceedings, as well as about the institutions managing Illegally acquired property.

Such expert workshops and trainings are useful because of the exchange experiences with colleagues who possess long-term working experience in European Union countries, aiming to be more efficient when working on complex cases of organized crime and corruption in the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.
