INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR SMUGGLING OF PERSONS
13.02.2013. 15:49As alleged in the indictment, the accused Ahmet Kulović has, in the period between November 16, 2009 and December 7, 2009 in the area of the municipality of Goražde, participated in the chain of organized transfer of migrants from Albania to the Republic of Italy for the monetary amounts ranging between 3,500 to 4,000 Euros per person, and has taken over four citizens of the Republic Albania from an unknown persons in the vicinity of the border between the Republic of Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The accused Kulović transferred the aforementioned Albanian citizens across the border between the Republic of Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina which is contrary to provisions of Article 7, Paragraphs 1, 28 and 29 of the Law on Border Control ("Official Gazette of BiH" no. 53/09), after which he drove the vehicle to a place near by Sarajevo, where he handed them over to a person know to him, who transported them in the vehicle to the border of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia.
The indictment charges Ahmet Kulović with having, in the intent of obtaining financial gain for himself, transferred several migrants across the border, thereby committing the criminal offence of Smuggling of Persons under Article 189, Paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 29 of the Criminal Code of BiH.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
