THE ACCUSED AKIF BEŠLIJA (1966) CONCLUDED A PLEA AGREEMENT

The accused Akif Bešlija concluded an Agreement on admission of guilt for the committed criminal offense of Tax Evasion or Fraud under Article 210, Paragraph 3 in conjunction with Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of BiH.

The accused Akif Bešlija - born on November 6, 1966 in Ilijaš where he resides, BiH citizen - entered into a plea agreement with the Prosecutor of Department III within the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.

By virtue of signing the agreement the accused fully admitted committing the criminal offense he was charged with by the indictment of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH issued on August 28, 2012.

Pursuant to the agreement the Prosecutor and the defense agree that the accused Akif Bešlija be rendered a conditional one (1) year imprisonment sentence by the Court of BiH which will not be executed providing that the accused does not commit another criminal offense during a three (3) year period following the final verdict, and providing that he returns the assets obtained through commission of the criminal offense in the amount of 92.066,00 BAM.

The proposed sentence is in line with the role of the accused in commission of the criminal offense.

The accused Akif Bešlija is charged with evading payment of amounts required under the legislation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, by providing false information on his taxable income, thereby reducing his tax liabilities and evading payment of output Value Added Tax in the amount of 92,066.00 BAM, thus causing damage to BiH budget in the same amount.

By virtue of signing the Plea Agreement the accused confirms that he is aware of its contents. He also confirms that the plea statement was given voluntarily, knowingly, with full understanding and undertakes to reimburse the costs of the criminal proceedings in the amount that may eventually be determined by the Court of BiH.

Pursuant to this agreement the accused has waived his right to a trial and appeal to the criminal sanction that shall be rendered to him by the Court of BiH.

The agreement was submitted to the Court of BiH.
